Reflections of My Fall Semester Internship

My fall semester internship with Mrs. LeRoy's 1st grade class was truly a great experience. I learned many new things such as, taking inititive to help my field site mentor, and taking responsibility. My students taught me things that I never expected to learn while interning. I do miss being with my class, but I feel that it was a smart choice for me to get a feel for another age group by moving up to fifth grade.

The Ideal Classroom

I think that Lewisvile ISD has the right idea on trading desks for couches. Everyone has different learning styles or preferences, and some people could actually learn better in a more "relaxed" classroom rather than the traditional classroom setup. Adding couches and comfy chairs is a modern, new way to learn in a unique style. I would definitely like to include a couch or two in my own personal classroom, in addition to normal desks!
